Torresa

Our work at Torresa began with a dream and a plot of land.
We started exploring the idea of a hideaway— a tropical paradise hidden in plain sight, befitting its innate site characteristics. This abstraction nudged our design process to rediscover its locale, Atimonan, Quezon.

Analyzing local practices, stories, art forms, and built structures, we realized that the common theme that ties these facets is the connection between the people and the seas. The history of the coastal municipality is hewn by the abundance brought by Lamon Bay, which is evident in the traditional Tagultol fishing techniques, vernacular architecture, and even the myth of the Sirena.
