A+A House

Project Details

A Brutalist Bungalow Residence in Antique
Project Typology : Residential
Location : Antique, Philippines

Set in a quiet barangay in Antique where life moves at its own pace, the A+A House Project is a retirement haven designed for an artist and his interior designer partner. The couple shares a deep fascination with the raw beauty of concrete, making Brutalism the perfect foundation for the design, balanced by tropical contemporary elements to suit the environment.
The design is bold yet grounded, with concrete as the core material, softened by natural textures and tropical features. It's a home that mirrors their creative spirit a space to slow down, create, and enjoy the everyday in the most extraordinary way.

The layout unfolds like a story, with each space reflecting the couple's shared passions.
At the entrance, a workshop reminiscent of the artist's kubo welcomes you—a functional outdoor space for boat-making, motorbike repairs, and crafting, inspired by years of creative exploration.

Inside the house, the living room serves as a gathering space for friends and family, leading to a shared studio where their artistic pursuits come to life. The compact kitchen and counter for two highlight the simplicity of their lifestyle, while an open dining area just outside extends the invitation to entertain guests.

Beyond this, the private quarters provide a quiet retreat, and at the far end of the property, the artist's studio becomes a space of solitude and focus.
